So this week my family has started "juicing"! What's juicing you ask?
Well let me give you an exclusive look into my experience so far! About two weeks ago my sister contacted me and told me I NEEDED to watch "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" a YouTube video about a man who was fat, sick and nearly dead. The video lasting about 1 hour and 34 minutes and changed my life...and it can change yours too! I suggest watching the entire movie and then seeing just how you feel after.

Yes I only weigh about 103lbs but that means nothing in the sense of "being healthy". I along with so many others don't eat right. FACT
I am determined to make this work and to give my family the best possible outcome for a healthy life! I have learned that simple changes in life are the ones that make the biggest difference. You don't have to completely turn your world inside out..but adding/taking away little things at a time make for a smooth transition into a healthier HAPPIER way of living. And what's so wrong with being healthy?
I would love to wake up and look on Facebook to see more statuses saying "I feel great today!" Rather than the news feed overload of headaches, colds, aches, pains and drab moods! It's time we all started taking responsibility for our own lives...OUR OWN HEALTH!
So this is how I am incorporating "Juice" into my life. Each morning I wake up I go to my fridge pull out an array of fruits and vegetables and juice them. I get anywhere from 8-12 ounces of juice I drink it right then and then proceed with the rest of my day! SIMPLE. I can't describe the amount of energy that my body instantly receives from the juice. The first day I did it I felt like I had had 5 cups of coffee. I am able to make fresh apple, orange and carrot juices with added vegetables (which they would otherwise never eat) for the kids. No added sugar and no preservatives!
As soon as I am done breast feeding I plan to do the complete juice detox that lasts about 10 days. But since I am breast feeding there is fear of the toxins from my liver exiting my body via breast milk and that wouldn't be good for Jordan! I also have a disease called MSK or medullary sponge kidneys. My kidneys are full of cysts and their "makeup" is a breeding ground for stones. By juicing I am taking control of my own health and have created a happy environment for my kidneys by flushing out high amounts of oxalates. Staying on a low oxalate diet is key!
Believe me when I say that realizing you need change in your life is hard. I thankfully have had the most amazing gift---my older sister Carole. She is a true spokeswoman for "good health" and has all but begged me to start taking control of my life so that I can be happy and healthy. I resisted her advice for many years but after a very scary and painful pregnancy with Jordan her advice finally hit home and sunk in to my thick head.
So here's my question for you.....Are you ready for the challenge? Are you ready to make simple steps to improve your life so that your body isn't a breeding ground for cancer and other horrific diseases? I hope so. Nothing is better than having a clear mind fueled by cleaner foods!
My sister gifted me with a juicer for my birthday! I am very thankful for that because they are pricey. They are about the same money amount as a Keurig Coffee maker but worlds healthier! There is no doubt in my mind that swapping that morning cup of coffee with a morning cup of fruits and vegetables is the best option.
I will keep you all posted on the ups and downs of juicing and how my body deals with the transition of being filled with nasty foods to whole raw natural foods! As of now though I can tell you I have loads more energy and a clearer mind!
